If you are a leader in a local kids orgiazation, Daniel Boone homestead is a great place to take your group camping for a weekend.  Along with wonderful camping spots there is a lot of history to learn about.

The homestead has over 600 acres to get lost on.  While visiting you can enjoy grommed trials and loads of wildlife.

If you have your own tents your group can choice from two locations.

  1. The North Picnic/Tent Area is a wooded area with two covered picnic pavilions, water, fire rings, and pit toilets.
  2. The South Picnic/Tent Area is an open field area next to Daniel Boone Lake. It also has two picnic pavilions, water, fire rings, and pit toilets

IF sleeping outside is not your idea of a good time reserve the Rustic Wayside Lodge.  This building is heated and can sleep up to 24 people.

Reservations are a must, this is a popluar camping area so make them early.
