Fishing at Pymatuning Reservoir is permitted year-round with a license. If fishing on the lake, fishermen can use either a Pennsylvania or Ohio license. However, if fishing from the shore, the fishing license must be issued by whatever state the shore is located in.

If you plan to fish on the lake, there are several boat launches available, including an ADA accessible one in the Jamestown Marina and Manning Boat Launch. Motorboats must display either a Pennsylvania or Ohio boat registration. For non-powered boats, you will be required to display a registration from either state, a launching or mooring permit from Pennsylvania State Parks, and a launch use permit issued by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.

There are regulations for fishing at the Pymatuning Reservoir. Walleye, saugeye, bass, muskellunge, and tiger muskellunge are subject to size and daily limits. Other fish have no limits. If ice fishing, there are limits in regards to the size of the hole, as well as the number of fishing devices and hooks. It’s best to check with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission before fishing as regulations are subject to change..

If your coming for the weekend you’ll need a place to stay. The best places to stay are not necessarily the most expensive. The University of Pennsylvania

The homestead has over 600 acres to get lost on.  While visiting you can enjoy grommed trials and loads of wildlife.

If you have your own tents your group can choice from two locations.

1. The North Picnic/Tent Area is a wooded area with two covered picnic pavilions, water, fire rings, and pit toilets.
2. The South Picnic/Tent Area is an open field area next to Daniel Boone Lake. It also has two picnic pavilions, water, fire rings, and pit toilets

IF sleeping outside is not your idea of a good time reserve the Rustic Wayside Lodge.  This building is heated and can sleep up to 24 people.

Reservations are a must, this is a popluar camping area so make them early.

OK, so I lost the webcam again. Even worse, I can’t find my USB chord for the digicam. SO, here’s a crudely edited video of a day trip to Pennsylvania, starting from our escape from bedbug alcatraz.

Cool road trip the coal mines and the train museum are a must see when in the area. We camped out three nights with my Honda Element tent camper set up. An inexpensive way to see this country without an expensive motor home or a giant tow behind.
